As a big flipflops user, I was over the moon when I received an invitation from the country's leading flipflops brand, Banana Peel , for their 2014 Press Launch entitled Burst!. What made me even more excited was that John Lloyd Cruz, their brand ambassador, will be there! Of course I am not going to let the chance to meet him in person pass me by noh!
The very pretty MYX VJ and Courtside reporter Ai De La Cruz hosted the event.

Everyone invited were asked to wear their most colorful smart casual attire to match the press launch's theme and title Burst! This year Banana Peel aims to burst out of the norm by coming out with more fun and colorful designs. Banana Peel believes that flip flops should not be confined in tight, four-cornered spaces, rather, it should be a part of the fashion savvy’s outdoor lifestyle.

Banana Peel is now available in 28 branches and major department stores nationwide. And did you know that for about 4 years now, they have been distributing to 9 countries worldwide? Maldives, Taiwan, Saipan, the US and Australia to name a few.
This is why this 2014, to officially materialize these ideas, they have taken foreign models to artistically associate the foreign patronization of their products, and even the expansion of their product lines. That's why their upcoming ads feature foreign models but shot in a Philippine setting. All these ingredients combined are the perfect embodiment of what Banana Peel is about in being ‘Everybody’s Favorite Flip Flops!’
|Do I need to tell you who this handsome man is? Hahaha! |
Banana Peel Brand Ambassador and love of my life, John Lloyd Cruz.
And who better to represent Banana Peel in the Philippines than everybody's favorite boy-next-door, John Lloyd Cruz.
Banana Peel chose JLC once more to represent them this year because he's the ultimate boy-next-door whom every one can relate to. Girls go gaga over him, and guys want to be him. JLC even added that he really believed in the brand. That BP flipflops are of really good quality, something Filipinos can be proud of. This he claimed to have seen and experienced himself. Being a very laid-back type of person, he enjoys wearing BP flipflops at home, at the grocery, and recently at the set of his new ABS-CBN sitcom Home Sweetie Home.
Here are some of Banana Peel's designs including JLC's very own collection which are available in stores now.
And here are some of the designs to watch out for:
Of course I cannot let the night end without a pic with my Sweetie, JLC. Hahahah!
Thanks for dropping by!
