Colour Collection Lipstick from Sample Room

Hi Everyone!

How's your day? I hope you had a great one!

I certainly had a great day because my Colour Collection Lipstick from Sample Room arrived this morning! Woohoo! The mailman is becoming my best friend these days. He keeps on bringing happy stuff to my doorstep. hihi! Anyhoo, I've been reading a lot about Sample Room for the past months but it was only until last Sunday when I gave it a try. I was very lucky that they have full-size lipsticks on stock and it's in my favorite color! So I grabbed the chance before they run out. They run out of stocks pretty fast, you know. Let me share with you what I think about the lipstick I got.

Shawill Eyeshadow & Blusher

Hi everyone!

I can be a little cheapskate when it comes to make up. My reasoning would always be "Why spend a good amount of money on make up when I can find cheaper products that works well on me?" That's why I love local cosmetics in the department stores. I don't mind if they're cheap and local as long as they're safe to use and I don't experience any irritations from them whatsoever. And this eyeshadow palette is one of the reasons why affordable cosmetics are A-OK in my book.

On Mommy's Vanity: Wet n' Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow 8-pan Palette in Petal Pusher

Oh Hello Purple Lovers!

How are you today? Fabulous, I hope.

Last month, one of my close friends attended his sister's wedding in the US. I asked him if he can buy this Wet n' Wild palette for me because these palettes are a little expensive here. He was so sweet to buy it for me even if he knew nothing about make up.

On Mommy's Vanity: Nichido HD Lipsticks

Hi Everyone!

How are you today? I hope you're all fabulous!

I am local cosmetics lover.  Not only do I patronize local products because they're cheap but also because I  am amazed by their quality. Some can even rival imported brands in my opinion. Whenever we go to malls, my husband already knows where we'll go first. He calls it "the land of milk and honey" - the beauty section. Thank God for a patient husband who supports me as I hover from one beauty stall to another.Kabisado na nga nya mga make up brands!

Anyway, one of the stalls (I actually go to all of them) I love to check out is Nichido's. I have always been a fan of their lipsticks.  I love the formula of their lipsticks from their Juicy Lips collection to their newest line - the HD lipsticks. (I don't collect all the shades because not all suit me.)

Feature: Universal Gyro Bowl

Hi Y'all!

I'm not the type of mom who likes on-trend gadgets for babies. One reason is that my daughter simply outgrows them quickly like when my sister bought Yomi the Baby Bullet. I was just able to use it a couple of times because she already learned to chew rice and veggies. It's not really a waste of money. I guess it's just not worth it  because I did not get most out of  the product.

Lately, I've been hearing a lot about this wonder bowl that's supposedly spill-proof and kid-proof. I thought well, it's just another invention I don't need and probably doesn't work. When my sister gave Yomi the Gyro Bowl, I thought, "Oh no, baka naman masayang lang." But when I let Yomi use the Gyro Bowl, well, it actually works!

Klinec Nail and Body Spa Experience

Hi everyone!

How was your weekend? I hope it's great!

My weekend started with a Mani-Pedi from Klinec Nail & Body Spa. I have been dying to get a mani-pedi but I just didn't have the time for it. Last Friday, I finally got to have my nails done at Klinec. It's a nail and body spa located near our house. I've always thought of visiting and trying their services since they opened last May but I don't know why it took me that long to finally do so. Anyway, let me share to you my experience. :)

I don't know if you remember but last time I posted about my hair accessories collection for Yomi and  this very cute headband from Czara's Hair Pieces given by my husband's officemate.  (It's here if you haven't read it.) Anyway, I was  able to include just a few pieces information about Czara's Hair Pieces in that post. I was very fortunate to have virtually met the mommy behind the very cute headbands, Mommy Edel.  She was very friendly and nice. Oh, and she's a blogger too!  We had a little chat about her and her business. So here's a more in depth detail about them.

My Husband's Juenevie After Office Massage Experience

Hello!

Ms. Michelle Lim of Juenevie: Forever Young was very nice and generous to let us experience one of Juenevie's Treatments. Instead of having the treatment for myself, I thought I'd just give it to my husband. I want him to experience Juenevie's luxurious massage because it's the least I can do to show him how much I appreciate him for being a great husband, father, and provider. I also wanted him to try Juenevie's treatments for men and see what he thinks about it.

Maybelline Colorsensational Vivids in Brazen Berry

Hi Everyone!

Lipsticks really make my heart skip a beat especially when they're bright! I am just in love with creamy and vibrant lipsticks. When I'm in a hurry, I would just put on a bright lip and go. For quite a while now, beauty bloggers and YouTubers have raved about this Maybelline ColorSensational line called Vivids. I was so intrigued when I saw how gorgeous the colors are - they really are vivid. Of course, I was drawn to this lovely, lovely purple shade. I just knew I needed to have it in my life! :P

How Do They Do It?

Oh, Hello there!

How are you today? I hope you're all fabulous and great!

source: babble.com
My husband and I were having a conversation one night. Our topic was about mommies and wives, and the things we do. I told him that being a housewife is still very tiring even if we are at home most of the time. He then jokingly said "Oh, you're not a housewife. You're a stay-at-home-mom."  He meant to imply that a housewife is someone who does all the house chores and take care of the kids. While I, a S-A-H-M, just take care of our daughter and none of the household chores. Now, That may not be politically correct but it was just a joke.

I think he was somewhat correct about me. I feel more like a yaya than a housewife. Lol! Just kidding. All I do is take care of my little miss and do a few chores here and there. Thanks to our household help, I do not need to do majority of the work. But even if that's all I do, I still feel exhausted at the end of the day. I now have this new-found respect and admiration for all the mothers who take care of their children and still have enough energy to do the household chores, and not just the housewives but the working moms as well. Balancing work, household chores, and the kids is a talent I don't think I have. I take care of my baby and play with her and already I feel like a disheveled mess. It really makes me wonder, "how do they do it?".

Just rambling right here. hehehe! Thanks for dropping by! I love the chit chat! :)

It’s More Fun with Philip: Ang Lifestyle Show ng Bayan! (season 2)

Hi Everyone!

To be honest, I've never seen It's More Fun with Philip or its host, Philip Abadicio before. I've heard about his show once or twice but that was it. I had the chance to meet him in person a week ago when I attended a bloggers' lunch in Makati. Philip and his team were there to feature the host of  the event I attended. He was very funny and spontaneous while he was taping. He wasn't even reading a script. When I learned what his show was all about I thought, "Wow! That's a nice concept. A lifestyle show that also features affordable stuff. I like that." Bakit nga ba hindi ko to napanood noon pa?

Juenevie : Forever Young Bloggers' Lunch

Hi!

I don't know if you have read one of my posts about "ME" time but if you hadn't, there I talked about how important "me" time is for me. We all need a little time for ourselves to refresh us. For me a trip to cosmetics aisle, an hour or two with a mocha frappe in a cafe, or a nice relaxing massage can rejuvenate me.

Unlike going to the mall or a coffee shop, I don't get to have a massage as often as I like because sometimes it's a little inconvenient to go to a spa. I just find commuting to and from a spa a little bit inconvenient. I don't like commuting back to our house feeling oily all over, the dust will just stick on me and I can't even take a bath right away. Sometimes, after a relaxing massage I just want to go to sleep and I can't do that in a regular spa, can I?

That's why I am so glad I got to know Juenevie: Forever Young during their Bloggers' Lunch at The Tivoli in Mandarin Oriental Hotel last Thursday.

Teething Beads

Hi!

My sisters and I have a mini-collection of necklaces and accessories, something we just accumulated over time. I like how accessories give a look a whole new feel or how it makes what ever I'm wearing look more put-together.

Bench Paint Box Soft Shine Lipstick

Hi Everyone!

Dahil imbyernadette sembrano ako kay Sweetie last Saturday, I decided to go to the nearest mall to cool off. Naalala ko din na meron nga pla akong GC from Bench so I thought I'd go and use it. I was planning on getting a  blouse or t-shirt but when I got there I saw their make-up stand. The new black tubes caught my attention immediately. Alam nyo naman adik lang ako sa lipstick. So I went on a swatch fest and ended up buying these.

Be THE Nanay with Nu Moms Malunggay with Folic Acid

Hello everyone!

I guess I can say that one of my biggest frustrations as a mom is not being able to breastfeed my daughter. It took me a week before I can produce milk and I produced only 1 oz. on both breasts combined. I drank milk, lots of water, massaged my breasts, and ate Tinola with malunggay (lahat na ata ng may sabaw!) but it was all useless.  I was only able to breastfeed my daughter for 2 weeks. This really made me sad, almost depressed. I remember crying and telling my  husband how detached and useless I felt that time.  I even envied moms who breastfeed their babies.

But I got over that and I said to myself I am going to do my best to breast feed my next child and take whatever supplements I can just to be able to do that. Because there's nothing I would want more than to give my family the best, MY best.

Plum and Plum-er: Affordable Plum Lipsticks

Oh Hello There!

I hope you feel gorgeous and fabulous today!

By the way, if you haven't joined my giveaway you can still join here! Only a few days left!

Purple and Plums are also my favorite next to my gorgeous red lipsticks. I love how plums make you look sexy and vampy. At least that's how I feel when I'm wearing them. I am a bit partial to the deeper darker plums and the more opaque they are the better. So if my purple lipstick is sheer I layer it on to achieve my desired opacity. Here's a few of my favorite affordable purple/plum lippies.

My Mommy "ME" time

"We can only raise truly happy children when we ourselves are truly happy." - Mylene Dizon

Hi Everyone!

People say that when one becomes a mother her life is no longer her own. You know, I think it's true. However, I also believe that even if I have given a large chunk of myself to my daughter and my husband, I am still ME. And amidst the daily responsibilities and worries, I constantly have to remind myself of that.

Life's PEACH-y: Affordable Peach Lipsticks

Hello! Hello!

How are you today? Fabulous I hope.

By the way, if you haven't joined my giveaway you can still join here

Before, peaches, corals, and orange were my least favorite colors when it comes to lipsticks. (I still buy lipsticks in this color family anyway. Just because I'm an addict. LOL) I didn't like how the color looks on me that much. Maybe because I was so used to wearing bold reds but for the past months I kinda changed my mind about it.

PINKtastic! : Affordable Pink Lipsticks

Hello! Hello!

By the way, have you joined my giveaway? If you haven't, join here

A couple of years back I had my pink lipstick phase. When almost all celebrities in ASAP were wearing pinks lipstick, I wanted to wear it so bad. I was obsessed with MAC's Pink Nouveau. I tried it at MAC counter one time and it didn't look good on me. My husband didn't like it on me too so I ended up picking Brave instead.

It took me quite a while to find the right shade of pink that looks good on  me. Not all pinks suit my skin tone  very well. (I am not fair nor very morena. I sometimes think I look yellow. :P)  After lurking at beauty counters and countless swatches, I've found my right kind of pinks, very affordable ones too.

Great Inventions For Mommies

"Necessity is the mother of invention."

As a modern mom in this fast-changing world, I am very thankful for these very simple yet useful inventions. If these things hadn't been invented, I cannot imagine the discomfort or difficulty I could experience.

(These are in no particular order.)

Wet wipes

This is a great invention! I remember when we were young my mother would soak cotton balls in water and use it to wipe my sister's behind to clean it. Imagine if I had to tote around wet cotton balls and use it when we go out. It's very inconvenient and not very hygienic. Wet tissues are not only useful for cleaning my baby's bum but are also useful for wiping her hands or face. I also find it handy when I had to wipe anything my daughter is going to sit on or touch.

Red-y. Set. Go. : Affordable Reds

Hello! Hello!

By the way, have you joined my giveaway? If you haven't, join here

Today's spotlight is on my favorite affordable red lipsticks. You have no idea how much I love them. When I was still working, I'd wear them almost every single day. It makes me feel sexy and powerful. It's kinda like power dressing for the lips. This is my go to shade when I'm not in the mood to put on eye make up. I just put eyeliner on my lips, a little blush, and a red lipstick. It instantly makes me look polished... and fairer. :)

Here are my favorite affordable red lipsticks:

San San Create Your Own Eyeshadow

Hi Everyone!

Have you joined my giveaway? You can still join here. :)

I may not love all of San-San's products but I love most of them. Whenever I see HBC outlets, I make sure I find out what's new. I love San-San's Two-Way cake. In fact, it is a staple in my collection. I even have a back up because they run out of it quickly. I'm also a fan of Allue products and their hair colors. So when I saw the Create Your Own Eyeshadows, I knew I had to check it out.

On Neutral Ground: Affordable Nudes

Hello! Hello!

Hi! I'm Monika and I am a lipstick addict.

If you'd known me since I was 5, you'd know that my love for lipsticks goes very deep. I currently have 60 lipsticks in rotation. If I hadn't given away some of my lipsticks, I'd probably have about a hundred and I think that's a bit excessive so I just gave them away. Since I buy lipsticks often, I stick to affordable brands. I believe I would be wasting money on expensive brands since I rarely finish a tube. They will just be tossed out after a couple of years.

I thought I'd share with you some of my favorite affordable lipsticks. All of them are locally available. These can be found in leading department stores or local online sellers. I have categorized them into neutrals, reds, pinks, plums, and peaches.

Let me start with the neutrals. Here are some of my favorite neutral lipsticks.

Mom Gone Vain's First Blog Giveaway {CLOSED}

Hi! Everyone.

I am considerably a blogging noob. In fact, this blog was just created last April but I am already very thankful for the support I got and continue to be getting from my friends and readers (although you may not be that many). I really enjoy sharing my stories with you. I am also very grateful to have already met new acquaintances and potential life-long friends along the way. This has been a very fun, liberating , and educational experience.
