Champs Chewable Vitamins

Hello! Hello!

Last Thursday, I was invited to my first mommy bloggers event (Thanks Mish!). It was hosted by Chemical Company of Malaysia International Philippines, Inc. (CCMIP), the makers of Champs Chewable Vitamins. The event, entitled “Bloggers Get-to-know CHAMPS Day”, was held at Cerchio Grill & Lounge on Tomas Morato Avenue in Q.C.

I was very excited to go because it's a great opportunity to meet and get to know other mommies and also because events like these are very informative. I am always up for anything that can hone my mommy skills. When I arrived, some moms were already thereh and I got to chat with a  few of them. I love meeting other mommy bloggers I can share stories, tips, and ideas with. It was just a small group and it made the discussion more intimate and relaxed. It's like a group of friends chit chatting over lunch.

We were treated with quite a feast. There were so many delicious food served I had a hard time deciding which one to eat first. Here are just a few pictures of the dishes they served:

I only took few pics of the food. Ang DAMI kasi! I was busy eating. Burrp!

Infairness, Cerchio Grill & Lounge serve really good food! Anyway enough with my ramblings!

 Moving on...

Business Manager, Alina Iledan, giving some background info about CCMIP and CHAMPS

According to Mrs. Iledan, The Chemical Company of Malaysia is the largest generic company in Malaysia. It has 4 big manufacturing plants in Malaysia that have been recognized by both local and international bodies for its good manufacturing practices. It's actually like the UNILAB of Malaysia. (Bongga!) They wanted to share to us, mommies, information on one of the flagship products or brand of this company – that is CHAMPS.

CHAMPS is a brand for multivitamins that's designed for children ages 3 to 12. For children below 3, the suggested dosage is half a tablet. It can be crushed and mixed with juices or milk. It comes in several variants which have been formulated to address the specific needs of various segments of the pediatric population. These variants include CHAMPS Vitamin C, CHAMPS M, CHAMPS M with lysine, CHAMPS C plus lysine, and of course CHAMPS OMEGA 3.

Very affordable and available in leading drugstores nationwide

These multivitamins come in small chewable tablets and in various shapes (heart, doughnut, triangle) and tasty flavors (pineapple, tutti fruitti etc.). Let's face it, one of the difficulties mothers experience is making their kids take vitamins. Its unconventional formulation of being in chewable, differently shaped and nice tasting flavored tablets helps put an end to this dilemma.  These actually reminds me of the Flinstones multivitamins we used to take as kids. (I do not experience this problem yet with Yomi because I can still trick her into taking her vitamins. I am just not so sure when she turns 2. :P)

Dra. Maria Lourdes Escobar talking about what vitamins are and why it is important for our kids take them.

Dra. Escobar, our keynote speaker, emphasized the importance of vitamins A, B, C, and D to our kids. She also said that vitamin supplements like CHAMPS help provide these important vitamins. Not all kids have the same eating habits. Some may be picky eaters while others might be eating more junk foods. Furthermore, in days when the kids do not like mommy's cooking or have gone tired of the same old boring menu and have refused to eat,  mommies can worry less knowing that their kids' daily vitamin requirements are still being met.

Mommy bloggers listening intently to the discussion

I'm sure most mommies would agree that vitamins are essential substances that growing children need for proper growth as well as maintenance of their health. Even if these substances can be found in fruits and veggies, a child needs to consume these in large amounts just to meet the Recommended Energy and Nutrient Intake. Now, I cannot feed Yomi a whole farm or an ocean just to be able to give her the right amount of vitamins she needs. That's why there are vitamin supplements like these to fill in our needs.

Here are CHAMPS' five variants:

It's good to know that there are vitamin supplements like CHAMPS to help provide our children with the right amount of vitamins they need. Oh, and a good-tasting vitamin at that. We actually got to taste some of the vitamins ourselves. They do taste like candy. :) If you are interested in these, I suggest consulting your pediatrician first.
